I've been thinking about this for almost ten years. Back in 2017, I sent myself an email with an idea I couldn't shake: what if finding a good barber was as easy as opening an app and seeing who was actually free, right now, near you? Not scrolling through Instagram DMs. Not calling five shops and getting no answer. Just — open, see, book.
For years it stayed exactly that: an idea. Then in early 2026, I finally sat down and built it. Four months later, FADED was live — across all of Canada, not just one city, because barbers everywhere deserve the same shot.
This isn't a big VC-backed company trying to disrupt an industry. It's one guy who got tired of waiting, and built the thing he wished existed. Barbers keep 100% of what they earn. Clients find someone available in seconds. That's it. That's the whole idea.
